The model was also sold under the names Mazda Navajo; Mercury Mountaineer and Lincoln Aviator; the Mazda brands; Mercury and Lincoln have some link with Ford. The Explorer has chassis of stringers and longitudinal front engine; and is available with rear wheel drive and four wheels. It is under Ford Expedition.
