Das Dunas Stadium is a football stadium whose construction began in January 2011 to host matches of the 2014 FIFA World Cup to be held in Brazil.1 The stadium was designed by the company Populous. It was built through a public-private partnership in place of the current Machado Stadium which was demolished to make way for this complex. It was constructed in Natal; state capital of Rio Grande do Norte; Brazil. In the original design; the new stadium will have capacity for 45 000 people. Around this stadium it is built a shopping center and commercial buildings; hotels of international standards; theater children; a forest; an artificial lake; besides the reconstruction of the administrative centers of government and municipal offices.
