The oil trap well must have dimensions of width equal to those of the transformer more times the height of the tank of the same. The conservative tank of the transformer must be included inside the oil trap. The depth of the well will be such that a volume equal to the oil volume of the transformer can be obtained. At the bottom of the well will have a duct that joins it with an auxiliary chamber that serves as a trap. This auxiliary chamber communicates at a suitable level with the rainwater system. During construction, appropriate slopes should be provided to the rainwater drainage pipe. Turn the internal walls of the auxiliary chamber well must be constructed in concrete with waterproofing additives. The trap must be covered over its entire surface with a galvanized grid so that a layer of gravel of cm with a grain size of mm can be placed on top of it.

El pozo o trampa de aceite debe tener dimensiones de ancho y de largo, iguales a las del transformador más 0,4 veces la altura de la cuba del mismo. Dentro del contorno de la trampa de aceite debe quedar incluido el tanque conservador del transformador. La profundidad del pozo será tal, que permita obtener un volumen igual al volumen de aceite del transformador. En el fondo del pozo se tendrá un ducto que lo une con una cámara auxiliar que sirve de trampa. Esta cámara auxiliar comunica en un nivel adecuado con el sistema de aguas lluvias. Durante la construcción deberán preverse las pendientes adecuadas hacia la tubería de drenaje de aguas lluvia. A su vez las paredes internas del pozo y de la cámara auxiliar debe construirse en concreto con aditivos impermeabilizante. La trampa de aceite, debe cubrirse en toda su superficie con una rejilla galvanizada de tal manera que encima de ésta se pueda colocar una capa de gravilla de 10 cm de espesor, con una granulometría de 40 –\fSimplex_IV25|b0|i0|c0|p2; 60 mm.
